Leslie Jean DeLaCruz, 61, of Elloree passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 at Roper Hospital in Charleston. Mrs. DeLaCruz was born on November 11th, 1956 in Mayville, ND. She attended school in Hunter, ND and Drayton, ND and graduated from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, ND.

There she was employed by American Crystal Sugar company for 20+ years. On April 9th 1981 Leslie married the love of her life, Lupe DeLaCruz and together they raised their four children, Stephen (Francine) DeLaCruz of Elloree SC, Diego (Chelsea) DeLaCruz of Shakopee, MN, Micheal DeLaCruz of Dallas, TX, and Rebbecca DeLaCruz of Statesboro, GA. They especially enjoyed spoiling their grandchildren Brice Willison, Xavier and Briannicah Rennells, Michelle and Jocelyn DeLaCruz, and Romeo DeLaCruz.

Leslie is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren, as well as her siblings Bruce Wenaas, Drayton ND, Gail Wenaas, Colorado Springs Co, Connie (Darrel) Carlson, Bemidji MN, MarryLynn Wenaas, Bemidji MN, Sheila Verke of Texas, and Vickie Roberts of Las Vegas Nevada, her Mother-in-law, Eustolia DeLaCruz of Moorhead MN, Brothers and Sister-in-laws, Norma (Wayne) Holland of Fargo ND, Olga Orbeck of Tyler TX, Esther DeLaCuz of St Paul MN, Joe (Kathy) DeLaCuz of Fergus Falls MN, John DeLaCuz of Hendrum MN, and Martin Flores of Moorhead MN, in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and an amazing circle of dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Esther Wenaas, her sister JoNelle Kolle and brother-in-law Dave Orbeck. Leslie enjoyed spending her days out on the lake fishing, on many adventures with Lupe, going to casinos or cruises or attending galas, and treasure hunting for antiques, as well as tending to her humming birds and deer, and watching her grandkids grow up.

Leslie was always working on various crafting projects and she could fix almost anything. Visitation for Mrs. DeLaCruz will be held on Saturday, September 29th at 10 am followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11am at Barr-Price Funeral Home, 609 Northwood Rd, Lexington SC. Family and Friends are invited to join us after the service at Poplar Creek Landing in Elloree, SC to come together and honor her memory.
