Obituary of Lessie Mae Mashburn Smith Lessie Mae Mashburn Smith, 69, of Charlie Cooper Road, Staley died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Cone Health Alamance Regional, Burlington. Mrs. Smith was born in Chatham County on April 23, 1949 the daughter of John L. and Bertha (Lewis) Mashburn. She was a member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Wal Mart.

Lessie had previously work at Hadley Peoples Manufacturing. Her greatest pleasure was her family and helping others, but she also enjoyed trips to the beach, watching House Hunter and Wheel of Fortune on television. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lessie is survived by her husband: Richard M. Smith; three sisters: Norma Jean Baum, Mary John Scott and Mertie Ann Mashburn, and two brothers: Harold David Mashburn, Jessie Roland Mashburn (Karen) all of Siler City; step-children, Tammy Macon (Ronnie) of Bennett and Tina Smith of Siler City; step- grandchildren, Arriyah Nettles, Josh Macon, Zack Simmon. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM in Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

Bob Wachs officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
