Lester’s Obituary Lester Raphael Rumpf, Jr., known to friends and family as “Les”, passed away on February 25, 2019, at the age of 84 years from bladder cancer in Austin Texas. Les was born August 2, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. He went to school at Marmion Academy in Aurora and attended Marquette University.

Les served in the US Navy. In 1967, Les moved to Austin, Texas with Dolores to start their family. Les worked in the printing industry and retired from the University of Texas at Austin Printing Department in 1999.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dolores, daughters Michelle (Kelly) Dike, Paulla (Randy) Hashem, and Karen Rumpf; grandchildren Alex Valdez, Haleigh Hashem, Hayden Hashem, William Dike, and Harrison Dike; nephews James Strickler, Leonard Strickler, Perry Strickler, and Nicholas Cichowicz. Les is preceded in death by his father Lester Rumpf, Sr., mother Agnes Williamson, and sister Elise Barbara Strickler.
