Lillian’s Obituary Lillian Cowan Swain was born in Anderson, SC to William & Mary Jane Samuel Cowan on July 12, 1920. She was the sixth of ten children and all her sisters and brothers preceded her in death. The family relocated to Winston-Salem, NC at an early age and subsequently she was educated in the public school system of Winston-Salem.

Lillian relocated to Boston and secured a position as a presser at a local cleaners. She served as a member of Concord Baptist Church for 65 years and was also a member of the Red Hat Organization. She enjoyed traveling around the world, attending Broadway plays and strutting in her high heels.

Lillian was well loved and respected and will be missed for her cheerfulness and giving heart. She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving son Kevin Swain, and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 am Friday May 10, 2019 at Gardens of Memory Walkertown, NC.
