Lillian “Lil” E. Cannada, 78 of Providence Forge, VA went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2019. She was greeted at Heaven’s Gates by her parents Samuel ” Sam” and Ora Clay. Lil is survived by her three daughters Sharon Wynn (Doyle-devoted son-in-law), Sherry Austin (Randy) and Kay Smith as well as a special son Lawrence Holmes (Susie); devoted brother Sambo “Sam” Clay, sisters Jean Wynn and Gloria Horvath (Julius); 4 granddaughters Danielle, Sierra, Chelsea and Shelly and 3 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter; special friends Dean and Quantell Green and best friend Bertha Cannada.

Lil was a private person, a woman of few words but when she spoke you listened. She was well known by many for her “Poor Man’s Fruit Cakes”. She cared for and babysat a host of children in the community for numerous years until her health started to fail.

Lil was a generous person who leaves behind a legacy and numerous loving relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. A private memorial will be held for immediate family and special friends on February 21st at 2PM at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. In leiu of flowers contributions can be made to Chickahominy Indian Tribe (8200 Lott Cary Rd Providence Forge VA 23140) or Charles City Animal Shelter (12001 Munford Rd Providence Forge, VA 23140.
