Obituary for Lillian “Jackie” Davis Howell Farmville…………………………. Lillian Davis Howell, 83, formerly of Farmville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 23, 2018. Known as “Miss Jackie” to many, she was born in Greene County, NC on January 28, 1935, to the late Helen Davis and Lee Smith of Shines, NC, and was the widow of Milton Earl Howell of Farmville, NC.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Emmitt Henderson Davis of Goldsboro, NC. Miss Jackie was very dedicated to the ministry of the Farmville Pentecostal Holiness Church, serving on the Church Board as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, Bible School teacher, nursery helper, and Women’s Auxiliary member for many years. Later, she became a very active member of the Greenville Church of God where she loved helping in the nursery, teaching Bible School, and working with the children at the church.
For many years Jackie worked at Collins and Aikman of Farmville, later at Pope’s Department Store of Farmville, and then as a Home Health Care attendant until her retirement. She is survived by a daughter, Sheila Howell Wilkerson and husband, John of Durham; two sons, Ken Howell, and Eric Howell and wife, Kathi Howell of Farmville. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jonathan Wilkerson of San Francisco, California; Amber Wilkerson of Raleigh, NC; Tyler Wilkerson of Raleigh, NC; Amanda Howell Paterson and husband Quinten of Shallotte, NC; Matthew Howell of Walstonburg, NC; Alyssa Howell of New Bern, NC; and Adam Howell of Washington, NC, 3 great-grandchildren, Alexis Wilkerson of Raleigh, NC; Quincy Paterson of Shallotte NC; and Griffin Paterson of Shallotte, NC.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM, prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Farmville Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Daylon Mooneyham officiating. Burial will be held directly after the service at Hollywood Cemetery in Farmville, NC.
