Obituary for Linda Carol Johnson LINDA CAROL JOHNSON SUNRISE – SEPTEMBER 8, 1947 SUNSET- OCTOBER 24, 2018 Linda C. Johnson, 71 of Columbus, Ohio transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on October 24, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 8, 1947, to the late Norman B. Jones, Sr. and Doretha R. Jones in Huntington, West Virginia. She graduated from South Point High School in South Point, Ohio and furthered her education at Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.

Linda was a very caring and loving person, who loved God and her family with all of her heart. She gave her life to the Lord at a young age and was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. Early in her Christian walk, she sat under the tutelage of the late Bishop Quander L. Wilson, founder of the Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, and was a former member of the original Faith Singers.

During her time here on earth, she served humanity in many ways, especially in the area of healthcare both in the medical and mental health fields for approximately 40 years and eventually retired as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse from the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Throughout her career and life, she was always willing to give and help others. Her smile, her sense of humor, her stories, her prayers, her counsel, her encouragement, her support, and her very presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory one son, Donald Jeffrey “Fro” Johnson, Columbus, OH; three sisters, Teresa (Robert) Hairston, Portsmouth, OH; Cheryl (Shelby) Jones, Hilliard, OH; Margaret (Winfred) Crosby, Rock Hill, SC; three brothers, Norman (Jacqueline) Jones, Jr. Dunbar, WV, David (Kimberly) Jones, Powell, OH, James Jones, Chillicothe, OH; a special friend Judy McGee, Columbus, OH; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell 450 W. Olentangy Street Powell, Ohio 43065 with Bishop Edward E. Shouse, Sr. officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society or to The American Leukemia Society.

Following the Memorial Service a family gathering and fellowship luncheon will be held at the Dublin Community Recreation Center 5600 Post Road Dublin, Ohio 43017.
