Obituary for Linda Lee (Short) DeBord Linda Lee (Short) DeBord was born October 10, 1938 in Piedmont, Missouri. She set the course of her life at age nine when she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. Early in life she began using her vocal talents in the church choir and singing solos and duets as an expression of her faith.
She married her pastor-husband in 1956 and began a lifetime of loving support as they served in churches in Missouri, Louisiana, and Mississippi; and went on mission trips to a number of countries, where she often sang in the language of that country. This year they celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary on July 1. Linda’s strong priorities were to love (1) God, (2) husband, (3) family, and (4) friends.
Linda was a Bible student and an effective Sunday School teacher. She poured her life into raising her sons, Mark and Matthew, to know and to love the Lord and His Word. Even after they were married she continued to support and encourage them at every juncture of life, and loved to have them come to visit.
Her prayer life was evidence of how much she loved and cared for individuals both in the family and among her friends, desiring to help them see the blessings of the Lord and enjoy the life one can have in Christ. Linda’s greatest victory came Friday, Sept. 28, when she stepped into Heaven.
We remember her impact upon our lives and rejoice that we had her for 79 years. She is survived by Rev. James Short (brother); Dr. Gail DeBord (husband); Mark and Kelli DeBord, and Rev.
