Obituary for Lissette M. James (Tejeda) Print Funeral services for Mrs. Lissette M. James will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana with Reverend David Remedios officiating, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana. Mrs. Lissette M. James, age 37, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away in Alexandria, Louisiana on Sunday, January 27, 2019. She was born December 18,1981 in Manhattan, NY.

She was a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. She was an educator in Onslow County, NC, Rapides and Jefferson Parish, LA. On June 25, 2005 she married Joseph Gregory James in Jacksonville, NC.

Together, they have three children. She enjoyed cooking, baking, hosting, trips to the beach (even having to be rescued at sea), crab legs and any type of seafood, working on science projects with her nephews, however, hated being barefoot in the grass! What she loved the most was spending time with her family!

Her husband said it best, “Lissette didn’t lose anything, she didn’t lose a battle, she won Christ, she won life and her reward is heaven”. Preceded in death by her birth mother, Ana Milady Diaz; father and mother-n-love, Joel Ashley and Rachel Joyce James and nephew, Ryan O’Neal Foxworth Survivors include her husband of 13 years, Joseph Gregory James; daughter, Jesenia Joyce; sons, Jayden Joseph, and Joshua Joel James of Metairie, LA, parents, Carlos Jr. and Mayra Diaz of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Vicente Diaz (Camille) of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Nicole Diaz-Alvarez (Carlos) of Philadelphia, PA; sister-n-love Michelle Foxworth (Robin) of Alexandria, LA; brother-n-love Michael James of Dahlonega, GA; sister-n-love Jenni Standard (Aaron) of Jacksonville, NC. Nieces and nephews include, Kevin Gil (Jocelyn) and Abigail Diaz of Philadelphia, PA; Jayanalize Naranjo and Jeremiah Alvarez of Philadelphia, PA; Kayla, Dylan and Eythan Foxworth of Alexandria, LA; Caleb and Brianna James of Dahlonega, GA; Kayci, Tobiah, Trenton and Jayce Standard of Jacksonville, NC.

; aunts and uncles include, Celeste, Lita, Maria, Veronica, Michelle, Barbara-Jean and Uncle Chichi as well as a host of cousins and friends. Friends may visit on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
