LaGeita’s Obituary LaGeita Rooks Gothard, age 84, of Sulligent, AL passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at The Meadows Nursing Home in Fulton, MS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:00pm from Sulligent First Baptist Church with Graveside Services and burial to follow in Sulligent City Cemetery. Bro.

Byron Pickering to officiate. Visitation will be held at Otts Funeral Home on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. LaGeita was born on February 14, 1934 in Marshall County, AL to the late Odis Lemuel Rooks and the late Desser Mae Johnson.

LaGeita was a graduate of Walker County High School. She previously worked at a telephone company in Birmingham, AL, McCoy Manufacturing, Stephens Building Supply and Thumbprint. LaGeita was a member of Sulligent First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She enjoyed sewing and cooking. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Sulligent First Baptist Church at P.O. Box 217, Sulligent, AL, 35586.
