Obituary for Lloyd “Dink” Anderson Jordan Jr Mr. Lloyd “Dink” Anderson Jordan, Jr. passed away Wednesday December 19, 2018 at Pruitt Health Care. A graveside service will be 3 PM Saturday at Carolina Memorial Park officiated by Dr. Steve Ayers.
A gathering of family and friends will be at 1PM Saturday at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Dink was born May 23, 1936 in Concord to the late Willie Daves Jordan. He was also preceded in death by his wife Nancy B. Jordan.
He played baseball prior to graduation at Pfeiffer College. Dink enlisted in the U.S. Army 1954 through 1956. He was a retired teacher and coach in the Cabarrus County School system.
Dink coached baseball, football and girls’ basketball at Harrisburg High School. He was the first football head coach at Central Cabarrus High School and later was honored with the football field named in his honor. He was also an inductee of the Cabarrus County Sports Hall of Fame.
Dink is survived by children Julie Thomas and husband Conrad, Monty Jordan and wife Robin, and Danny Jordan and wife Daphne; grandchildren Jordan Thomas, Taylor Thomas, Craig Jordan, Laurin Perkins, Amanda Jordan, and Kristen Jordan; great grandchildren Wyatt Perkins, and Walker Clamp; brother Rodney “Sam” Jordan and wife Sharon; sister Barbara Jordan Gray; and by a number of extended family members.
