Lloyd Thomas “Tom” Higgins, 74, of Methuen passed away at Wingate in Andover on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 after 10 years of battling cancer. Born August 18, 1945, he was the son of Lloyd and Edith (Rushton) Higgins and resided his whole life in Methuen. Lloyd worked in the restaurant industry as a head bartender with over 25 years at the Andover Inn.

In the last few years, he worked at the Lanam Club in Andover. Tom is survived by his brother William Higgins of Rockport and his sister Joyce Higgins Dalton of Bourne as well as 2 nephews, William and Andrew and 3 nieces, Jill, Jane and Kristin and many great nieces and great nephews. We all enjoyed his company at family holidays and celebrations.

He just loved being and talking with people no matter their age. Tom spent most of his free time at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire cruising around on his boat whenever possible. Many family members would travel to the lake in the summer so we could be with Tom on his boat.

In the off seasons, he would go to boat shows and car shows. Tom took many vacations, always seeking out any lighthouses he could visit. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Tom’s life on Saturday May 18, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Church, 20 Reed Road, Sandown, NH 03873 or to the Lighthouse Preservation Society, 11 Seaborne Drive, Dover, NH 03820. To leave an online condolence, please visit Tom’s tribute page at www. dewhirstbolesfuneral.com.
