Obituary for Lois M. Beavers Lois M. Beavers Elm Creek Resident Lois M. Beavers, 82, of Elm Creek passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Brookestone View in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. The Pastor Dean Pofahl officiate.

A private family inurnment will be held at Elm Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Chapel in Elm Creek. Memorials are suggested to the Elm Creek Library or the Elm Creek Fire and Rescue Department.

Lois M. Beavers was born on October 12, 1936 in Cozad, Nebraska to George S. and Eliza Hannah (Hitchcock) Hergenrader. Lois received her education from Elm Creek Public School. Lois was united in marriage to James H. Miller in 1953.

She was later united in marriage to Gary D. Beavers in 1971 in Elm Creek. The couple owned and operated the Beaver Creek Saloon in Elm Creek for 14 years before retiring in 1998. Gary preceded her in death in 1999.

Lois was a member of the Jayceetes, the Eagles Club in Kearney and the GWTA Motorcycle Club. She enjoyed playing softball, crafting and riding motorcycles. She also loved to travel, but most of all she valued her time spent with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kathie Martindale and her husband, Jay of Brewster, NE, Anne Moats and her husband, Jim of Elm Creek, NE, Amy Hernandez and her fiancé, Jerry Meridith of Gothenburg, NE, Sheila Dawn Miller of Golden, CO and Joel Beavers of Kearney, NE; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; sons, Jamie and Tom Miller; great-grandson, Barrett James Love; her parents; brothers, Bruce Hergenrader and Don Hergenrader; and sister, Bess Barello.
