Obituary for Lois Mckeown Lois Jean McKeown, 89, passed away on June 5, 2018 at the Villas at La Canada in Tucson, Arizona. She was born on February 23, 1929, the daughter of Mary (Grohens) McKeown and Richard Pierre “Pete” McKeown in Walton, Illinois. Lois graduated from Community High School (now Newman Catholic) in Sterling, Illinois.

In her early years she worked for an orthodontist in Denver, Colorado. Due to health reasons and the untimely death of her father, she moved to Tucson in the late 1960’s where she has lived since. Lois is survived by her sister-in-law Mrs. William (Sharon) McKeown, 14 nieces and nephews, and her care advocate and dear friend, Linda Nachbar.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters (Helen Shirley and Mary Lorraine), two brothers (William Joseph and Richard Pierre), a brother-in-law (Edward “Duke” Miller), two nieces (Mary Christine Hungerford and Ann Miller) and one nephew (Patrick “Duffy” McKeown). Funeral services will be a visitation at St. Odilia Catholic Church Tucson, Arizona at 11:00 am on Monday June 11, 2018 followed by church services at 11:30 am. Internment will be at Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson following the Catholic mass.

A special thank you to the staff at Villas at La Canada, Casa de la Luz Hospice, Linda Nachbar and Cassandra Henderson for their wonderful care of Lois. A private memorial service for Lois will be held at a later date in Sterling, Illinois.
