Lois June Charles Courtney, 85, of Church Hill, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late John and Mary Shanks Charles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Charles; and a son-in-law, Mike Thouin.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She was a member of Kincaid United Methodist Church and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Robert Kenneth Courtney; daughters, Sharon Courtney Thouin, and Amy Courtney Sanders and husband Mike; grandchildren, Daniel Thouin and wife Lacy, Austin and Sydney Long, and MacKenzie Sanders; great grandchildren, Kadin and Noah Long; sisters, Anna Louise Charles, and Mary Lena McNutt; and brothers, Eugene Charles, and Sidney Lowell Charles.

Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Kincaid United Methodist Church, Blevins Road, Rogersville, TN. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev.

Eric Chapman officiating. The graveside service will follow in Choptack Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Choptack Baptist Church and Kincaid United Methodist Church.
