Lola Maye (Scoles) Hawkey, age 82, formerly of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away on February 14, 2019 at her home in Martin, Tennessee. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Keens Chapel Cemetery in Farina, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Karin 4 Kritters, C/O Tabi Essary, 411 Hillsboro St. Greenfield, TN.

38230 Lola was born on October 18, 1936 in St. Elmo, Illinois, the daughter of Benjamin and Nellie (Tipsword) Scoles. She married Kenneth L. Hawkey on February 12, 1955, he preceded her in death on October 1, 2007. She loved gardening, watching NASCAR, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and playing computer games.

Lola worked at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in St. Elmo, Illinois for many years. She is survived by her children, Randy Hawkey (Bonnie) of Olney, Illinois, Carol Crockett (Bill) of Glendale Heights, Illinois, Brenda Wilson (Herbert) of Cape Coral, Florida, Kevin Hawkey of San Angelo, Texas, Kathy Smith (Scott) of Martin, Tenneesee; brothers, Ray Scoles (Dianne) of Edgewood, Illinois, John Scoles (Joann) of Dora, Missouri, and Frank Scoles (Bernice) of St. Elmo, Illinois; sisters, Mary Eagan of Sandoval, Illinois, Barbara Goldsberry of St. Elmo, Illinois and her twin sister, Zola Limes (Jerry) of Farina, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Austin, Chase, Matthew, Michelle, Misty, Nicholas, Nikki, and Sherry; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Nellie Scoles; husband of 52 years, Kenneth Hawkey; daughter, Vickie Sue; brothers, Abe, Jesse, Merle, Len, and Harry Scoles; sisters, Lucy Davis, Pauline Ingram, and Audrey Jean Mefford.
