Lora Paulann Adams returned home to her Heavenly Father on February 4, 2019. She passed peacefully while in the arms of her loving husband at her home in SLC, Utah. Lora was born on November 26, 1960 in Inglewood, California to John Gilbert and Patricia (Sanderson) Pace.
She grew up the 5thof 7 children. She loved each of her siblings tremendously and had many fond memories of their childhood together. A member of the Karuk tribe of California, Lora was proud of her Native American heritage.
She was a self-taught painter and built a successful career and business doing so. She loved the work she did and all of her clients, building lasting friendships with many of them. At a young age she had her only son, Shayne Perry, and raised him alone until she met the love of her life, Lindsay Adams.
They were married on September 16th, 1989 and spent 34 beautiful years together. Lora loved her family fiercely and often had an extra family member living with her. She took in her 2 nieces (Shawnya Wayman and Tennea Calvert) and nephew (Rusten Calvert) at a young age and raised them as her own.
Lora had a deep love and passion for all of God’s creatures, especially her beloved dogs. You could often find her stopping to help a stray dog or taking blankets to the local shelters. She loved the outdoors, especially going to the beach and riding her bike.
Lora traveled with her husband and mom as much as she could and enjoyed exploring new places. She especially loved her scuba diving trips with her husband. One of her greatest joys were her grandchildren.
She loved spending time and making memories with them. She knew just how to make them feel special, they will always remember her delight in them. Lora was diagnosed with stage 4, small cell carcinoma after a random accident at home.
Lora’s illness lasted only a brief 5 months but was a difficult one. She fought with such grace always staying positive and worrying about others instead of herself. Her family is grateful for her zest for life and she will be remembered for her infectious laugh.
Though small in stature she had the spirit and strength of a giant. They are grateful for her selfless example, unconditional love and her willingness to help those in need. She will be remembered by all for her big heart.
Lora is survived by her husband (Lindsay Adams), mother (Patricia Pace), biological son (Shayne [Sherri] Perry), three adopted children (Shawnya [Isaac] Wayman, Tennea and Rusten Calvert), two sisters (Linda Gilbert, Lisa [Arnie] Lano), 3 brothers (John [Dee] Gilbert, Steve [Tammy] Gilbert, James [Kelli] Gilbert), grandchildren (Jaxon, Brielle, Ty), 12 additional grandchildren (Miranda [David] Smith, Brenda, Rosalee, Amber, Stephen, Gabriel, Chase, Jaydon, Joselyn, Dawson, Paisley, Olydia), and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews as well as her faithful fur companion, Belle.
