David Leon Fullmer David Leon Fullmer was born 30 October 1928 in Springville, Utah to David John and Leila May Harmison Fullmer. He is the oldest son of four boys. He has three older sisters.

He attended Grant Elementary and Jefferson Elementary Schools. He was an active athletic person. He participated in the football team one year as full back.

He was in the baseball team as second base position two years and also played short stop. He started school at the Grant Elementary when his family lived in Springville, then went to the Jefferson School when his family lived in Mapleton. He left high school three weeks before graduating to join the United States Army.

He was in Columbus, Georgia where he took parachute training. He also went to El Paso, Texas and Fayetteville, North Carolina. When he was discharged, he returned home and went back to High School and graduated.

He worked for a while for the Pacific States Pipe Company, Union Pacific Railroad and attened Westminister College. He also worked at the Rio Grande Railroad Station as a baggage helper and at Sam Slmon’s I. G. A. store. In the spring of 1951 he as called to go on a mission to France.

He went from October 1951 to 1954. He served as Branch President while there. After his mission he entered the United States Air Force.

He went to the Administrative School in Cheyenne, Wyoming. After, he went to the Adjutant General School in Indiana. Aftter completion of school he was assigned to Anchorage, Alaska for two years.

Later he was assigned to Morocco, Africa for a year. He was discharged from the Air Force there and made his way to Paris, France. He attended the University of Paris or the Sorbonne for one year.

He came home in 1959 to Springville, Utah to attend Brigham Young University and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, August 1962 He studied to teach in the secondary schools. He started teaching French, 1962 at Wahlquist Junior High School. Here he met a Music teacher, Zola Marie Jepsen.

She was teaching violin, viola, cello and bass at this school and teaching in a number of elementary schools in the area. David and Zola Marie were married and sealed 7 August 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. They first lived at Gail Gibbs apartment at the attic at 2135 Adams Avenue in Ogden, Utah.

During three summers, they lived in Provo, Utah while David took classes at BYU or Brigham Young University until he received a Masters Degree in Seconday Education. August 26, 1964 they bought and lived at 3919 Nordin Avenue, Ogden, Utah, in South Oden. All of their four children (Marilyn, Craig, Nadene and Howard) were born in Ogden.

They lived in Provo, Utah tree summers. They have three grandson. During the summers our family have gone on trips to California, Cedar City, Moab, Utah and parts of Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming and Colorado and many scenic areas of Utah.

David has taugh French at Wahlquist, North Ogden and North Bell Junior High Schools. He began teaching math at Bell Junior High, 1970 until about 1992. He was President of Utah Education Association and President of the Councel of Local Presidents of the Utah Education Association.

He receved a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Brigham Young University. He has been a Scoutmaster, Priest Advisor, Teacher Trainer Advisor, Secretary in the Mutaul and Sunday School, M Men Advisor,Mutual President and Teacher of the Adults in Sunday School, Secretary for the Thirty Eight Ward Seventies Group, High Priest, Director of French Extraction, Assistant Finance Ward Clerk and Ward Missionary and 16 August 1998, Second Counselor in the Bishopric with Bishop Richard G. Holley, February 20, 2000 David became First Counselor to Bishop Daniel B. Call, until 29 December 2002. The South Ogden Thirty Eight Ward changed its name to South Ogden Third Ward on 16 April 1995.

He has been the President of the Peter Fullmer Family Organization since 1977 until 14 December 2002. David was in the McKay-Dee Hospital for Coronary Angioplasty. David had Cataract operation in both eyes.

David and wife served as Family History Missionaries as full time at the Salt Lake Family History Library from 4 November 1994 to 21 April 1996. Then served as part ime at the same place for 30 months from 17 February 1997 to 31 August 1999. Then served as part time at the same place from September 1999 to 2009 and helped serve in the Ogden Family History Center until 2002.

David and Zola were sustained and set apart as Family History Consultants in the Sourth Ogen Third Ward of the South Ogden Utah Stake 18 February 2007. David and Zola set apart as Emergency Consultants. 8 September 2013 by Bishop Britton Hans Hayden.

David had had trouble with heart disease and also has Parkinsons disease 13 July 2016. He was in Harrison Point Nursing Center form 6 January 2019 and came home January 26, 2019 and had Encompass Health Hospice Care until his death 29 March 2019. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Ogden City Cemetery with military honors.
