Verda LaRae Barron Rimmasch 1922 – 2019 Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother Verda LaRae Barron Nordberg Rimmasch passed away peacefully on March 15, 2019. She was 96. Verda was born November 18, 1922 in Woods Cross, Utah to James Clifford Barron and Bessie Lucinda Monroe.

She grew up in the Salt Lake valley and attended Granite High school. She met her future husband Eugene Roy Nordberg “Pinky” on a blind date and they were later married on June 16, 1942. He left immediately after to fight in the war.

Later they were sealed in the Salt Lake City temple on November 18, 1966. Verda and Pinky had three children: William Roy Nordberg, Billy Eugene Nordberg, and Randy Nordberg. William passed away five days after his birth, Billy passed away on May 1, 2004, and Randy lives in Costa Rica.

Pinky passed away on September 2, 1975. Verda married Benjamin Eisenblatter Orson Rimmasch on March 4, 1976. Verda was a hard worker and loved to go to work each day.

She worked on the factory floor at Eimac for many years until her retirement at age 72. Verda was a wonderful cook and we all enjoyed her delicious homemade breads, cookies, pies (not made with ice water), and meals for many years. She especially loved all of her birds and dogs throughout the years.

Verda also had a passion for gardening and enjoyed beautifying her yard and home with colorful flowers. Verda was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Verda was preceded in death by her husband Pinky, sons William and Billy, her parents, her siblings Kelvin, Mildred, James, DeWayne, Therian, Delsa (Dee) and her stepdaughter Heidi Bryson.

She is survived by her husband Benjamin, son Randy Nordberg, stepchildren Kent, Kim (Marylou), Holly, and Kory (Kristy), sister Janet Killian, grandchildren Scott Nordberg and Tammy Cardon. She had 19 additional grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Willow Creek 9th Ward, 2115 East Creek Road, Sandy, Utah where a visitation will be prior to services from 11:00 to 11:50am.

Interment in the Midvale City Cemetery. The family would like to thank Emily, Kim, Deb, Christina, and Bristol Hospice for their loving care.
