Sheila Pettypool, 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2019, in Ogden Utah, after a long battle with her health. She was surrounded by her daughters, a sister and a special family friend at the time she returned to her Heavenly Father and her loving parents. Sheila was born on April 28, 1951, in Ogden Utah, to William Porter Petty Sr. and Dorothy Dee Bowden and raised by her mother and dad Robert Church.

She was raised in the Ogden area and attended Ogden High School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her previous marriages were to John Samulski Sr. and Melvin Pettypool.

Between both marriages, she had four children. Family was the most important thing to her. She did many things in her life but her greatest accomplishment was being a loving and supportive mother, grandmother and friend.

She raised four beautiful children but was also considered as a mom to many. She opened her heart and home to all that needed it. All who met her loved her, and her special spirit.

She loved to cook, crochet, sew and many other crafts. She was very artistic and loved to work with polymer clay and has made hundreds of original design clay models over the years. She is survived by her four children: Johnell (Chad) Oberhansly, John Samulski Jr, Tayea (Branden) Pearson, and Mellony Pursel.

She is also survived by five siblings, Dorothy Chamberlain, Bill (Sally) Petty, Roberta (Hank) Dyson, Susan (Tod) Packer, and Jan Wahler, as well as her stepmother Marjorie Petty, 24 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father William Porter Petty Sr., her mother and dad, Robert and Dorothy Church, brother, Douglas Petty, sister Julie Ann Kohler and two grandchildren Michael Pursel and Kurt Oberhansly. A memorial service and light luncheon will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the Roy 1st Ward 5850 S 2575 W, Roy, Utah, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a private family Graveside service, with interment at the Evergreen Memorial Park in Ogden, Utah.
