Lorraine B. Cole, 85, of Cincinnatus (Freetown), NY, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, at the Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland, NY. Mrs. Cole was born in Bradford County, PA, on August 27, 1933, the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Head Washburn. A longtime resident of the area, she had co-owned Maude & Joe’s Diner in Marathon for several years and later worked at Homer Dry Cleaners.

She served as an election inspector for the Freetown Democratic Election Committee for over 20 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and dancing to country music. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Donald Cole; and her children, Christine Hopkins of NC, Denise (John) Griep of Marathon, Tina (Dennis) Bleck of WV, Patricia (Syd) McEvoy of Marathon, Charles (Becky) Cole of Cincinnatus, Allen (Jean) Drake of Cincinnatus, and Billie Jo Cole.

She also leaves behind her sisters, Susan Spafford of FL, Kathy (Ronnie) Arnold of Genoa, and Debbie (Jim) Smiley of Dryden; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, James Drake, and sisters, Sandy Robison, Joanne Quail, and Yvonne Glezen. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
