Obituary for Lorus Ray Winn Lorus Ray Winn Age 87 died April 18, 2018 in Provo, Utah. An active member of the LDS faith and resident of Murray, Utah, was born April 9, 1931 in Manti, Utah to Eden Lorus Winn and Ruby Merriam Winn. Much of his childhood spent in Kenilworth, Utah Ray married Bonnie Anderson Doolin on November 22, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Bonnie had 2 children from a previous marriage Linda Jo married to Gregory Christensen, of Wallsburg, Utah and a son, Richard Errol married to Camille Billings Winn, also of Wallsburg, Utah. Ray and Bonnie adopted a son, Todd Ray Winn of Murray, Utah and had one daughter together, Tori Rae married to Travis Foley of Driggs, Idaho. Ray also had two children from a previous marriage, Lloyd R. Winn, and Terri Winn Strong.

During his 41 year career at Hercules Ray worked in everything from the mix house to Supervisor over the carpentry and paint shops. He took early retirement in 1991. He spent countless volunteer hours on the board of Aspen Hills Owners Association serving as Vice President 20 years.

Ray loved being outdoors, enjoyed camping, backpacking, and hiking. They also joined a local chapter of the Good Sam Club. Ray was an amazing story teller, always ready with a good joke or song.

He was a lifelong Scouter, receiving the Silver Beaver award, but preferred being just a Scoutmaster. He mentored many young men through to Eagle Scout. A master woodworker Ray always had at least one side job doing carpentry work.

Survived by the six children listed above, 10 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren, Ray was Proceeded in death by his wife, Bonnie Winn, parents, sisters Margorie Howlett, Leola (Howard, also deceased) Ludwig, and brother, Robert (Zenna Mae, deceased) Winn and one granddaughter, Jessica Lyn Curley. Funeral Services: Monday April 23 2018 at 11:30 am at the LDS Chapel, 494 W Main Canyon Road, Wallsburg, Utah. A public viewing held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on the same day.
