Louis G. Marshall Sr., born on November 9, 1924 in Gloucester, NJ, predeceased by wife Theresa, died peacefully on March 4, 2019 of complications from lymphoma. He is survived by one brother; Charles Marshall of Gloucester, NJ; five children and their spouses, son Louis G. Marshall Jr. (Phyllis Giannini), daughters, Sharon Marshall (Marshall Witt), Sandy Orndorff (Chuck), Cathy Welsh (Matt), TerriAnn Pennypacker (Rob); five grandchildren and their spouses, Becky Orndorff, Matt Orndorff (Aimee), Alex Riley (Abby), Ryan Pennypacker and Evan Pennypacker and three great grandchildren. Mr. Marshall was a veteran of World War II, where he served proudly as a Technician 5th grade in Texas and Oklahoma’s H Company heavy weapon, mortar and machine gun division.

He was in the second wave at Utah beach, the Battle of the Bulge and ended his tour of duty in Czechoslovakia. He was an active senior in Gloucester County, where he chaired the senior committee and worked county elections, and enjoyed membership at the Woodbury YMCA. In addition to his family, Louis will be remembered for his warm smile, as having a great sense of humor always ready with a quick one-liner and for being everyone’s friend.

He was a great dancer, totally devoted to his wife and loved cherry vanilla ice cream. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday, March 8, 2016 in the Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main St., Mantua. Relatives and friends may visit with the family after 10 AM Friday in church until Mass time.
