Louis William Thiel 93 passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center. Louis was born in Johnstown, PA. He was retired from the United States Air Force with over 20 years, during WWII, was a member of the Ayden VFW, and was a mechanic, fixing lawn equipment in his back yard.

Louis was a loving husband to Jane Tyer Thiel for 23 years of the home. He is also survived by a son, Allen Thiel and wife Karen of Washington, NC. A celebration of life will be on Thursday, May 9, 2019, 1:00pm at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Ayden.
