Mildred “Louise” Robinson, 93, of Matherville, Illinois died Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan, Illinois. Visitation is Sunday, January 20th from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21st at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola.

Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Robinson, Robert Robinson, Drew Bloomfield, Jacob Strom, Mike Robinson and Don Bloomfield. Burial will be in Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville. Memorials may be left for the family to be distributed to Farlow Grove Cemetery, Avonlea Cottage Activity Fund and United Community Church of Matherville.

Louise was born October 24, 1925 in Viola, daughter of Carl Everett and Margaret Palmer. She was raised in Matherville and graduated from Sherrard High School in 1943. Louise was employed by the Rock Island Arsenal and Bear Manufacturing.

She married Robert E. “Red” Robinson on May 14, 1947. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Red’s death in 1998. Louise was a dedicated member of the Matherville Community Church and Ladies Aid, Matherville P.T.A., Matherville Community Club and the Farlow Grove Cemetery Board.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, puzzles, reading, playing cards and bingo and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and against the Chicago Cubs. Louise is survived by daughter: Debbie (Don) Bloomfield of Winchester, TN; son: Robert C. “Robo” (Tammy) Robinson of Matherville, IL; grandchildren: Daniel Robinson, Robert S. Robinson, Diana (Jacob) Strom and Drew (Angie) Bloomfield; step-grandchildren: Dodi Gampher and Lisa Burgess; one great grandson and eight step great grandchildren; sisters: Connie Scovil of Lynn Center, Illinois and Hazel Ziegenhorn of Viola, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
