Louise Sessions Galloway February 08, 1953 – January 03, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Louise Sessions-Galloway, beloved and devoted wife of Reverend Robert E. Galloway for forty-five years, was born the third of five children to James Arthur and Louise Rose-Sessions on February 8, 1953 in Sumter, SC. She entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 3, 2019. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter, SC, graduating from Sumter High School with the class of 1971.
Louise was employed for 23 years as a Human Res Coordinator at Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, where she worked faithfully until her health declined. Her journey for Christ in the church started at an early age and continued in her marriage to walk with her husband faithfully, becoming the First Lady of five churches pastored by her husband. Louise had a quiet, soft spoken spirit and was loved by everyone she touched along her journey of life.
She worked with total commitment in the church serving in various capacities: Women’s Missionary Society President, an active missionary member, choir member, Stewardess Board active and as advisor and mentor in the children’s mentoring program. She leaves to cherish her memories and legacy: her husband, Robert E. Galloway; a son, Captain (Retired Army) Maurice L. Galloway of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Doctor Anita J. Edwards of Nashville, TN and Ingrid T. Galloway of Sumter, SC; five grandchildren: Janaya and Ja’Lyn House, Taylor Galloway, Savannah Edwards, and Myles Jones; her mother, Mrs. Louise Rose-Sessions; two brothers, Willie Sessions and Jose’ (Keisha) Sessions; two brothers-in-law, Burroughs James, Jr. of Sumter, SC and Charles (Sharon) Butler of New York City, NY; four sisters-in-law: Cassandra (Gebenga) Adedipe of Bamberg, SC, Helen G. Williams, Patricia Garcia both of Brooklyn, NY, and Ruth G. Charles of Sumter, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends. Louise was preceded in death by her father; a brother, James Sessions and a sister, Dianne Campbell.
Public Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job’s Mortuary. Mrs. Galloway will be placed in the church on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, January 7, 2019 at St. Paul AME Church 835 Plowden Mill Road Sumter, SC 29154, with Rev.
Frederick Graves, Pastor and Presiding Elder James S. Cooper, Eulogist. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the home, 1014 Decatur Street Sumter, SC 29150.
