Lucille Davis was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. She was born on September 29, 1919 in Earle, AR to the late Will and Frances Jackson. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age.

In 1942, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Odell Davis. Sr. Lucille enjoyed being with her family and her dog “Tiny”. She also loved fishing, live wrestling matches and playing spades.

Lucille welcomed and helped everyone, even strangers. She also raised seven grandkids as her own without a single complaint. She worked at The Compress Quarters, The Potato Factory and in the cotton field.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Will & Frances Jackson; her daughters: Eartha Bell (Jessie) Cummings, Pearlie Mae Davis and Diane Foster; all of her siblings; three brothers and four sisters; her niece, Frances Coleman; her special nephews, Henderson Walker and Henry Jackson; her grandson, George White; and a son-in-law, Bruce Black. Her memory will be forever cherished by her only son, Odell (Darlene) Davis of Indianapolis, IN; daughters: Willie Mae Miller of Lawrence, MI, Catherine Foster of Goble, MI, Earnestine Harmon of South Bend, IN, and Viola Patterson of South Bend, IN; her 30 grandkids, 101 great-grandkids, 88 great-great-grandkids, and eight great-great-great-grandkids; aspecial caregiver, Nancy and a host of relatives and friends. Services for Mrs. Lucille Davis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Greater St. Matthew Life Changing Ministries, 2705 Marquette Blvd, South Bend, IN 46628.

Friends may call on the family for visitation for one hour prior to service at the church. Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be left at www.
