Life Story for Lucille Lackovic (Hess) Lucille Hess Lackovic, 93, of Erie, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at Elmwood Gardens. She was born in Erie, Pa, on June 27, 1925, the daughter of the late John A. and Elizabeth C. Bleil Hess. Lucille was a founding member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where she was a member of the bereavement committee.

She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Food Bank for 20 years. Lucille enjoyed playing cards and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic M. Lackovic; her two sons, David M. and James M. Lackovic; her two sisters, Betty Goodemote and Ruth Hedderick; and her brother, John W. “Jack” Hess. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Lackovic of Mechanicsburg, PA; her two sons, Gary Lackovic and his wife Karen of Cambridge Springs, and Timothy Lackovic and his wife Kimberly, of Erie; her brother, Donald H. Hess, of Erie; her sister, Mary Bowersox of FL; her six grandchildren, Jason Lackovic, Erin (Scott) Langevin, Heidi (Lew) Lackovic, Adam (Rachel) Lackovic, Nicole Lackovic, and Joshua Lackovic; her six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Elmwood Gardens for all the love and care they gave to their mom.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. , on Monday from 4 to 7 pm and are invited to a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel the following morning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Elmwood Gardens – 2628 Elmwood Ave, Erie, PA 16508.
