Luigi “Gino” Neri of Kirkwood, Missouri was born May 28, 1930 in Rimini, Italy to Giuseppe Neri and Villelma Bernardi Neri and died Friday, May 3, 2019 at his home in Kirkwood, Missouri at the age of 88 years 11 months and 5 days. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three (63) years, Anna Franchi Neri, of Kirkwood, Missouri (Married August 28, 1955 in Bologna, Italy), his two (2) children, Robert (wife, Patty) Neri of Tampa, Florida and Laura (husband, Martin Fitzgerald) Neri Baebler of Kirkwood, Missouri, his six (6) grandchildren, Marco, Ryan, Spencer, Elisa, Katie and Christy, his two (2) sisters, Anna Neri Carpaneda of Bologna, Italy and Franca Neri Grandi of Bologna, Italy, his sister-in-law, Laura (husband, Adriano) Franchi Morellato of Bologna, Italy and many other relatives and friends.

Gino met Anna when they were teenagers in Bologna, Italy. He finished his studies and his commitment to the military before they married in Bologna, Italy and then they moved to Argentina where they started their family and began building a home. Gino was an engineer working for Fiat in 1963 when he and Anna relocated their family to Washington, D.C., Corpus Christi, Texas and eventually Maryland.

In Maryland, Gino founded a pre-cast concrete manufacturing company in 1967 which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Lido Club as well as the 100K Walk of the Passatore in Washington, D.C. and was a published author and talented cook. He is affectionately remembered on 3 continents for his generous love of family, friends and life, beautiful spirit, festive heart and contagious smile.
