Obituary for Luz “Lucy” Basurto-Bosquez Luz Basurto, lovingly known as “Lucy” to most, transitioned to her eternal rest on Thursday May 3rd, 2018. She was born in Corpus Christi on October 16th,1977. After graduating college, Lucy moved to San Antonio and made it her new home.
Lucy was preceded in death by her father Manuel Basurto and aunt Rosario Garza. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 3 ½ years Pedro Alejandro “Alex” Bosquez. Luz is also survived by her mother Mary G. Basurto; brothers Gabriel E. Basurto and Israel J. Basurto; sister Leticia Rosario Basurto and sister in law Kim Basurto; father-in law Pete Bosquez Jr., mother-in-law Maria E. Bosquez; brother-in-law James A. Bosquez, and sister-in-law Victoria R. Bosquez.
Lucy will be missed by the many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew and friends who met, admired, and loved her. Lucy’s beautiful smile was often followed by a heart felt laugh, or a cute comment. She was a loving partner to Alex for the last eight years, enjoying life as much as possible and as often as leisure time would allow.
Lucy’s brief life encompassed an appreciation for music, color, and the vibrancy of life. Her connections to her friends ran deep and her commitment at being the best she could be was reflected in her job and goals. She faced the reality of life head-on whenever possible and bravely fought the good fight as her body would allow.
