Lyle D. Gere East Wenatchee, WA Lyle D. Gere passed away on March 7, 2019, at the age of 81. Lyle was born in Ravinia, SD, to Vance and Helen (Fechner) Gere on December 28, 1937. At a young age Lyle and his family moved from Ravinia, SD, to Peshastin, WA, to join family.

At the age of 6 Lyle contracted Polio which launched his can-do spirit for living. Lyle attended Eastmont Highschool and in 1954 joined the United States Navy serving two years. In 1957, Lyle married Karren (McRae) Gere of Wenatchee, WA.

Together they had four children, Joy, LoyKay, Bonnie and Daniel Gere. Lyle worked for Safeway in Wenatchee, Bellevue, Ephrata and then in 1965 he opened Gere’s Market in Rock Island, WA. In 1967, Lyle went to work for Weinstein Beverage/Pepsi Cola in Wenatchee.

That same year Pepsi sent Lyle and his family to Bridgeport where he spent the next 20 years establishing the plant there. One of Lyles highlights was having his son Daniel Gere join him in the work at Pepsi. Lyle worked for Pepsi for 33 years.

Lyle married Dee (Beler) Gere, of Wenatchee, WA, on January 9, 1987, gaining two addition children, Robin Chambers and Clint Beler. Upon retirement from Pepsi, Lyle worked part time for Healthy Options. In his retirement days, Lyle and Dee enjoyed their time of fellowship and friends at Eastmont Baptist Church.

Lyle truly enjoyed fishing and camping with his grandkids and his buddies from church. Lyle is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dee Gere, a brother Steven Gere of Wenatchee, WA, his children: Joy Gere (Jim) of Yakima, WA, LoyKay Dugan (Russel), Bonnie Lyle Johnson (Tom), Daniel Gere (Nancy), Robin Chambers, all of Wenatchee, WA, Clint (Kristi) Beler of East Wenatchee; grandchildren: Mathew Lyle Busch (Jenn) of Wenatchee, Troy Chambers (Britni) of East Wenatchee, Kevin Beler of Wenatchee, WA, Kayte Johnson (Jordan) of East Wenatchee, WA, Kimberlee Giffen (Brayden) of Queen Creek, AZ, Kyle Beler of Wenatchee, WA; greatgrandchildren: James and Jackson Neumann, of Wenatchee, WA, Shawn and Calum Chambers of East Wenatchee, WA, Alice Denman of Chelan, WA, Brooks Johnson (and his sibling joining the family in August) of East Wenatchee, WA. Lyle is proceeded in death by his father and mother, two brothers, Vance Jr. and Russie Gere and a great grandchild, Shawn Brett Chambers.
