Lyle Dennis Toso of Buckley, Washington died on May, 7th at the age of 82. Lyle had been battling cancer and heart disease for the past 2 1/2 years. Born in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota on November 25, 1935, Lyle was the youngest of 10 children to Anton and Alma Toso.

After returning from his service in the Army, he married Ardell (Halbakken) in 1959. Lyle had a nearly 30 year career with Baugh Construction, working in Washington and Alaska. Lyle then sold and brokered construction equipment until he retired.

After retirement Lyle spent time restoring antique tractors until he found his true passion of helping others. He helped his friend by utilizing his talents operating equipment, clearing land and general construction projects. He loved volunteering at church and Gateway Medical Alliance where he was known as the king of fork lift drivers.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and weekends away with the entire family. Lyle is survived by his wife of 59 years Ardell, his children and their spouses Ricky and Jennifer Toso, Linda and Rob Haskin, Lonny and Esther Toso, Kristen and Darryl Easter, 6 grandchildren; Sara, Bryce, Lukas, Ian, Ava, Marissa, and 2 great grandchildren, Leila and Levi. A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Church in Kent, Washington on May 20th at 2 pm with a reception to follow.

A memorial fund has been established at Gateway Medical Alliance (GMA) called “Lyle’s Project”. Gateway has shipped 97 containers of unused medical supplies to 11 poor or disadvantaged countries around the world. “Lyle’s Project” purchases children’s bibles to be included with the shipments.
