Obituary for Lynn Gatlin Stevens Lynn Gatlin Stevens, age 58, of 5131 Hwy 19, died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the residence after a prolonged illness. Lynn, daughter of the late Carolyn Ward Gatlin and George A. Gatlin, was born in Conway, SC and was a 1977 graduate of Conway High School. Upon graduation from Coastal Carolina University and University of South Carolina School of Law, Lynn returned to Conway and was very active professionally in the community.
In 1984, Lynn joined the firm of Thompson & Henry, P.A., and later became a shareholder. In 2001, she joined the firm of McNair Law Firm, P.A., as a shareholder. She was a member of many organizations in her community including Conway National Bank Board of Directors, Grand Strand Water & Sewer Authority, Coastal Carolina University Housing Foundation Board of Directors, panel member and past Chairperson of Real Estate Section of the South Carolina Bar and named The Best Lawyers in America 2008-2016, 2018.
In the community, Lynn was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Conway where she served in many leadership roles including Chair of the Building Committee, as well as teaching an adult Sunday school class. Lynn loved all sports especially golf and tennis. She and her husband were on the only teams (tennis) to win State Championships at Conway High School.
She also was a scholarship recipient and member of the Coastal Carolina tennis team. Surviving are her husband, Delan Stevens; a brother, Ward Gatlin (Kathy) of Manning, SC; three nieces, Mary Catherine Hulme (Ryan), Frances Keefer (Ben) of Sumter, and Heather Hardee and nephew, Anthony Hardee of Conway. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 2:00pm at First United Methodist Church in Conway with the Rev.
Kyle Randle officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church commons area from 12:00 – 2:00.
