Obituary for William Thomas Warner, II Myrtle Beach… William Thomas Warner II, Capt. US. Navy Reserve, Retired, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 in Myrtle Beach.

Born May 2, 1934 to Stafford H. Warner and Mary Hill Cowan Warner in Philadelphia, PA. Bill was a 1951 graduate of Central High School in Memphis, TN, a 1955 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA and of Louisville Law School. He proudly served his country on active duty and reserve duty in the US Navy for over 31 years.

Bill was an active attorney in Louisville and was active in the church and politics there for most of his adult life. He was a man of many interests and accomplishments and had a particular passion for history, theology, music, and legal matters. In his later years, one of his main focuses was racial reconciliation, where he spent many hours and much energy.

Bill dearly loved his family and God. He was a devoted servant of the Lord. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Martha.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine S. Dubbs; his sons, Will (William, II) (Sandra Shanaberger), John, and Bruns; his grandchildren, Tyler Warner and Sean Warner, all of Louisville, KY; his brother, James Warner (Ann); his sister, Mary Thorsberg (Bill) of Memphis, TN; his daughter-in-law, Janet Warner; and the mother of his children, Suzanne M. Warner. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Palmetto Missionary Baptist Church with Father Rob Donahue and Rev. Cheryl Adamson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church building fund, PO Box 752, Conway, SC 29528. Please sign an online guestbook at www.
