Obituary for William K. (Bill) Morris William K. (Bill) Morris died on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born January 19th, 1939, in Charleston, SC, he was a son of William Y. and Hazel H. Morris. He graduated St. Andrews Parish High School, Charleston, SC in 1957.
Bill served in the US Coast Guard for 3 years and served 30 years with SC Highway Patrol in Horry, Darlington and Georgetown Counties. He retired as 1st Sgt. of Horry County.
Bill was a life member of Myrtle Beach Masonic Lodge 353, and a member of Scottish Rite and Omar Temple. Bill was a gentle giant, who will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his first wife Judy Soles Morris Survivors include his wife, Mary Lynn Angell Lee Morris; daughters, Dee Dee (Gil) McKnight, Sherri (Shannon) Welch; stepchildren, Wally (Pam) Lee, Paula (Gabrielle) Lee, Willie (Melissa) Lee, and Christy (Jim) Arnette; Grandchildren, Blair (Drew) McElveen, Laney Welch and Miller Welch; Step -Grandchildren, Bryan (Melissa) Lee, Isla (J.
Wesley) Hughes, Mary Emily (Danny) Healy, William Lee, Cain Lee, Anna Wallace Lee, James Arnette and Catherine Arnette; Great-Grandchildren, Bryan Vernon, Wyatt McElveen, and Jesse Hughes; sister Pat M. McGinnis of Weeki Waki, FL; brother Bob (Joyce) Morris of James Island, SC. A service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be private.
