Obituary for Medreth Caroline Bach Bingham Medreth Caroline Bach Bingham, 96, of Pawleys Island, SC, formerly of Middletown, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018. She was born September 19, 1921 in Pherson, Ohio, daughter of George Pherson & Grace Pontious Bach. Her great-grandfather founded Pherson, building a church, a store and the family home.

She was raised in Circleville in the home known as the Keffer-Long-Bach-Higgins house on Main Street. She married George Reed Bingham July 19, 1942 in Circleville then WWII sent them to many locations because Reed was a Lt. in the Navy Bomb Disposal Unit.

After the war Reed began his 32 year career at Armco Steel in Middletown, Ohio and Meddy became a homemaker. They were members of First United Methodist Church, Forest Hills Country Club, Middletown Tennis Club, Friends of the Library and Sports Car Clubs. They loved antiquing and found treasures for their home.

Meddy’s love of stitchery & Reed’s framing graced their walls. Meddy joined the Middletown Hospital Auxiliary in 1956 as a volunteer, served on many committees for the Follies and later chaired Telecare. She logged over 10,000 hours of volunteer service.

She loved to play bridge and had a great group of “Girls”, traveled to Hilton Head & Colonial Williamsburg & visit family members around the country. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years & her beloved brother Carl Mayo Bach. She is survived by nieces; Jill Bach & Holly Bach Poteet (David) of Pawleys Island, SC & many other nieces and nephews.
