Mafra Lee Messer, 85, widow of Buddy Messer since 1995, left her home unexpectedly on Dec. 27, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was a native of Lexington born Dec.

20, 1933, to the late Leonard Mack and Joyce Plowman Lamb being one of their twelve children. Mafra retired after 30 years of employment at Mayfair Manor where she was the Housekeeping Supervisor and she was a member of Springdale Baptist Church. She had a passion for puzzles, reading and watching wrestling.

She leaves her legacy with daughters Barbara Phipps, husband Benjamin, Tammy Ivy, husband Lee, and Brenda Becknell, husband Henry as well as her 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her brothers and sisters Junior Lamb, Charlie Lamb, wife Ruby, Henry Lamb, Sarah Robinson, Flossie Puckett, and Betty Watts, husband Dave will fondly remember their childhood memories. She was preceded in death by a son Norman Messer, daughter Lisa Hall and 5 brothers.

“You will never forget your mother’s face, her voice, the stories she told, or the traditions she handed down. They are her gift and your legacy”. The family is currently planning a service to honor her for a later date.
