Obituary of Mahlon Parker Mahlon John Parker, 82, of Montour Falls, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. He was born in Elmira, NY on October 8, 1935 and graduated from Sayre High School in 1953. Mahlon was a pipe fitter and plumber at Westinghouse in Horseheads for 39 years, retiring in 1993.

He served with the US Navy from 1958-1962, and later retired from the Navy Reserve after serving from 1962-1986. He was a member of the American Legion Post 676 in Odessa and the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Laura (Fosdeck) Parker; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kelley Parker of Gilford, NH; grandson, Brad Lee Parker; and step grandchildren, Dustin and Christopher Overholts; and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his children Leon, Joseph and Ellen Parker. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. His funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm followed by burial with full military honors in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Odessa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Legion Post 676, P.O. Box 137, Odessa, NY 14869.
