Mairi Ava Davis, 9 years old of Green Springs and Clyde, Ohio, gained her angel wings Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in her mother’s arms at Cleveland Clinic after a long fight with Leigh’s Syndrome. Mairi was born November 4, 2008 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was the daughter of Clint Davis of Clyde, Ohio and Mikel (Peterson) and Damien Neri of Green Springs, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, Mairi is survived by her brothers: Connor and Colin Davis; sisters: Madalyne and Carys Davis; stepbrother, Jarrett Neri; and stepsister, Caitlyn Neri; Grandparents: Art and Sandra (Peterson) Kiuttu of Keizer, Oregon, David and Linda Davis of Clyde, Ohio, and Jesse Neri of Sandusky, Ohio; Great Grandmother, Coco Kiuttu of Chico, California; Aunts and Uncles: Kristin and Andy Schiefer of Crestline, Ohio, Tommy and Sara Davis of Millbury, Ohio, David and Lizzie Davis of Fremont, Ohio, Duane and Jackie Davis of Salem, Indiana, Darren Davis of Fairborn, Ohio, Michelle Peterson of Clyde, Ohio, Jennifer Kiuttu, Justin and Sarah Kiuttu of Orlando, Florida, Nicholas and Avienne Kiuttu of Portland, Oregon, Shane and Milly Kiuttu of Hong Kong, Shawna and Gordon Rowe of Sandusky, Ohio and Nathan Prine of Bellevue, Ohio; as well as numerous cousins and extended family members. Mairi is preceded in death by her Great grandparents: Frank and Helen “Kat” Perkins, Ernest and Mary Davis, Junior and Anna Thomas, and William Kiuttu, and her grandmother Mary Neri. Mairi was a beautiful little girl with a heart that could melt the world and a smile that could light up a room.
People always describe her smile as contagious. She just finished third grade at Clyde Elementary School and was to attend Green Springs Elementary School in the fall. Mairi loved to twirl baton since she was 2 1/2 years old and was a student with Full Force Baton Corps under the instruction of her special “aunts” Katie Hubley and Kristen Burroughs.
She enjoyed singing, playing with her baby alive dolls, and cuddling her pets Harmony, Twix, and Milky Way. Friends will be received Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8pm and Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 1-5pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy. , Clyde, OH 43410.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00am at First Missionary Church, 927 S Main St, Clyde, OH 43410. Burial will follow at Green Springs Cemetery. Mairi’s family would like to send a very special thank you to Hattie Hamons, her teacher’s aide of 3 years, Brandi Dinan, her home health nurse with Ohioans Home Health Care and their staff, Dr. Abby Chudinski and Dr. Summit Parikh as well as the amazing staff at Cleveland Clinic.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mairi’s Fight Memorial at Croghan Bank or the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
