Major M. Johnson, 88 of Massillon, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 2, 2018. He was born on October 31, 1930 in Lowe, WV and was the son of the late George Johnson and Mary Duncan. Major worked at Republic Steel for 32 years and then went to work for Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority.

He was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple for 52 years and had been active as a Sunday School Teacher and enjoyed participating in the visitation ministry. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Ethel Snow and his brother Eugene Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty F. (Comanitz) Johnson, his sons, John R. (Carol) Johnson, Robert L. (Lisa) Johnson, Matthew M. (Angie) Johnson and his daughter Rebecca M. Johnson.

Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kaitlyn J. Johnson, Alex T. Bauer and Nathaniel B. Johnson, several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
