EDINBURG – Manuel De La Garza, 93, left to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg, Texas. Mr. De La Garza was born in Peñitas, Texas on January 23, 1926 to Paula and Domingo De La Garza. Mr. De La Garza served in the US Army during World War II under General George S. Patton he fought in the battle of the Bulge WW II, he was a hard worker, he loved western oldie movies and enjoyed always being dressed up.

Mr. De La Garza is preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Paula De La Garza, his siblings, Oscar De La Garza, Valentin De La Garza and Socorro De La Garza. Mr. De La Garza is survived by his loving wife, Rosa De La Garza and his brother, Roberto De La Garza. He is also survived by his nephews and numerous cousins.

Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Lord and I Memorial Chapel in Peñitas, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Peñitas, Texas. Interment will follow to the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas.
