Manuel’s Obituary Manuel Furtado George, 97 of Crows Landing passed away Sunday, December 2nd at his residence. He died one day and four years after his beloved wife, Elvera Mendes George. Mr. George was born September 28, 1921 in Gustine to Antonio F. George and Maria DaSilva George.

He was a Farmer and Dairyman. Manuel belonged to the PFSA and other organizations. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. George is survived by his devoted daughter and care-giver, Linda George Amarante of Newman; grandchildren, Neil Amarante of Paso Robles, Nathan Amarante of Newman, Marcus Amarante of Waterford and Lacey Van Excel of Lodi; great-grandchildren, Madison, Atlee and Henry Van Exel of Lodi, Miles and Luke Amarante of Waterford; sisters, Ida Souza of Crows Landing and Mary Ramos of Newman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvera and daughter, Ann Amarante. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm -6:00 pm, Monday, December 17th at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman.

A Rosary/Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 18th at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman. Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Newman.
