Marcella was born on a farm near Bruno, Nebraska on September 13, 1930, to John and Clodie (Policky) Slavik. Marcella worked hard on the farm alongside with Bernard farming, gardening, raising chickens, ducks and geese, and selling eggs to make extra money. She kept house, cooked and baked wonderful food and raised the children. Marcella was fairly active in the church helping out with festivals and Bazaars.

In late 2007, Marcy and Bernard moved to David City to “retire”. There they started a large garden to keep active. When Marcy started to slow down in 2015, after 60 years of marriage, together they moved to Wahoo to an assisted living facility.

Marcy immersed herself in the community she built with the many friends she made while living there. She enjoyed playing bingo and participating in other activities. Her family and her faith were very important to Marcella.

She attended Mass, read her Daily Devotions and prayed the Rosary regularly.
