Obituary for Margaret Funston Margaret Ann Funston Margaret Ann Funston, 91, passed away on June 30, 2018, at her home at Oak Pointe Assisted Living, in Maryville, MO. Margaret was born September 28, 1926, to William and Charlotte (Rudy) Charles, in Hawarden, IA. A graduate of Solomon High School, Solomon, KS, Margaret rnarried her high school sweetheart, Curtis Lloyd Funston on March 22,1945, in Ashville, NC, and they were happily married for sixty-three years.

Curtis preceded her in death in 2008. She is survived by sons Steven C. Funston, (Betty) of Lenexa, KS; Jeffery E. Funston, (Carole), of Maryville, M0, Stanley D. Funston, of Skidmore, MO; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Randal) Owings, of Mexico, MO, Jeffery Douglas (Jennifer) Funston, of Liberty, MO, Mark Funston, of Marina del Ray, CA, and Jill (Robert) Dieterle, Overland Park, KS. Great grandchildren include Rachel and Steven Owings, Olivia and Amelia Funston, and Etta Rae Dieterle.

She is also survived by her brother Fred Charles of Seattle, WA, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Davidson and Dorothy Rose. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She was an avid bridge player, and she and Curtis enjoyed playing golf and traveling extensively. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Maryville. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 7, at the First Presbyterian Church, at 2:00 pm, with a visitation to begin at the church at 1:00 pm.

lnurnment will follow the service in Miriam Cemetery, Maryville. ln lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Maryville, Children and Family Center of NW Missouri, or SSM Hospice.
