Obituary for Margaret H. Howell Margaret Hood Howell, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, was ushered into the glorious presence of her Sovereign Lord and Savior on September 6, 2018, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home. Born in Greenville to Mary Mitchell Hood and James Oliver Hood, Margaret graduated from Welcome High School and went on to attend Mars Hill College, where she later served on the Board of Advisors. She spent her life serving others by faithfully playing piano for church.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Alton Jerry Howell, two daughters, Yvonne Ray (Mark Fowler) and Carol Jo Vervaet (Dale), and seven grandchildren, Erin, Brad and Kevin Ray and Kelly, Grace, Josh and Rachel Vervaet. A service to celebrate the life and testimony of Margaret will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary in Greer. Burial will follow at the Howell Family Cemetery in Taylors.

Visitation will be held at 9:30-10:45 a.m. at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to Mars Hill University, 100 Athletic Street, Mars Hill, North Carolina 28754.
