OBITUARY Margaret Mary Smith May 30, 1934 – September 17, 2018 Margaret Mary Smith, 84, of Poplarville, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 in Pearl River County Hospital, Poplarville surrounded by family. Mrs. Smith was born May 30, 1934 in Connersville, Indiana and raised in Brookville, Indiana to Ervin Kolb and Pauline Baudendistel Kolb. She was an Avon Saleslady for 20 years and retired from Sperry Rubber Products.

She was a graduate of Oldenburg Academy in Oldenburg, Indiana and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Poplarville. She married Samuel Thomas Smith on May 9, 1953 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Brookville, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ervin Kolb, Clarence “Ben” Cummins, and Pauline Cummins; her husband, S.T. Smith; sisters, Ervinna “Winnie” Drewes, Bettie Johnson, Ola Mae Padgett; brothers, Bob Kolb, Mike Kolb, Harold Cummins; brothers-in-law, Bill Drewes, Clyde Johnson, Don Padgett; Richard Wiwi; sisters-in-law, Norma Kolb and Jean Cummins.

Family members include her children, Sam Smith and his wife Lennie, Lenore Ladner; brothers, Leo Kolb, Donald Cummins and his wife Melba; sisters, Barbara Smith, Karen Prentice and Mike; grandchildren, Zac Smith, Abby Smith, Lindsey Poole, and Kelsey Poole. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12 Bilbo Hill Drive, Poplarville, MS, 39470 on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 am. Fr.

Fintan Kilmurray will serve as celebrant. Burial will follow in Juniper Grove Cemetery, Poplarville. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 9:00 am until Mass, Friday morning at the church.

Our precious and loving Margaret Mary will be deeply missed and with her abiding Catholic faith we will be certain to see and rejoice with her again. In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, memorials may be directed to Oldenburg Academy, 1 Twister Circle, Oldenburg, IN 47036; St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12 Bilbo Hill Drive, Poplarville, MS, 39470; or a charity of one’s choice.
