Margaret “Peggy” A. Straw, age 80, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca. She was born in Chicago, IL on September 22, 1937 to Howard and Marjorie (Clauss) Cook. Peggy was an elementary school teacher with the Wild Rose School District for many years.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, as well as doing word and math puzzles. Following her retirement, she would play cards with friends at the Waupaca Senior Center. Peggy will be dearly missed by her children: Mike (Paula) Davies, Kathy (Mike) Straw, Mark (Melinda) Davies, and Matt (Julie) Davies; grandchildren: David Davies, Brandon (Erin) and Eric Nelson, Brent (Andrea) and Allison Davies, Cody Davies, Eric (Dana) Straw, Emily (Dan) VanBuskirk, Christopher Plennes and Gina Wettberg; and great-grandchildren: Calvin and Charlotte Straw.

She is further survived by a brother, Jim (Helen) Cook and sisters, Rosemary (Dan) Bartel and Barb (Dan) Toftum; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Clark Davies; second husband, Gleno Straw; and a brother, Bill Cook. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Hilltop Cemetery in Saxeville following the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Peggy’s neighbors, Betty & Rita.
