Margaret “Peggy” Shirley, 79, Ernest, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 19, 2018 while at Beacon Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The daughter of Walter J. and Fannie (Kerr) Stancombe, she was born February 9, 1939 in Indiana, PA. Surviving are her children, Richard (Jane) Taylor, Creekside, Randy Taylor, Ernest, Robert Taylor, Indiana, Jackie (Tim) Eiselman, Indiana, Tammy (Greg) Goodyear, Indiana, Robin Allen, Indiana, Ronald (Kelly) Shirley, Creekside, and Donald Shirley, Savannah, GA; siblings, Ted (Joanne) Stancombe, Bob Stancombe, Sally (Bob) Jobe, Pat MacBlane, Rick (Judy) Stancombe, Bonnie (Barry) Toldi, eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; special friends, Tracey Lingenfelter and Trina Fulmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Peggy in death were her parents; first husband, Richard Taylor; second husband, Alvie Shirley; infant son, James Merle; sister, Ruth; and brothers, James, Jack, William and Timothy. Friends will be received today, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel.

Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home to assist with funeral costs. The family would like to offer a special thank you to VNA Hospice and Beacon Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassion while caring for Peggy.
