OBITUARY Margaret Wristpus March 12, 1938 – October 1, 2018 Margareta (Gerstner) Wristpus, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away surrounded by her loving daughters and family on October 1, 2018, at Parkview Hospital. She was born in Forchheim, Germany, on March 12, 1938. She was married to her beloved husband, JT Wristpus, for 48 years before he preceded her to Heaven, on October 20, 2002.

She loved to read German novels, romance novels, crocheting, gardening, traveling, playing bingo, and being around family and friends. She supported the D.A.V. for many years. She retired from Meijer’s in 2008 and was a restaurant manager at various food chains, and also worked several years at St. Joseph Hospital.

She is survived by her five daughters, Veronika (Santiago) Wristpus-Ortiz, Maria (Carlos) Gomez-Espino, Heidi Williams, Petra (Joe) Beckstedt, and Jennie (Craig) Wheeler; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered in our hearts. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815, with visitation 1 hour prior.

Visitation will also be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
