Obituary of Margaret Wilson Margaret Joan Wilson, 77, of State College, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Foxdale Village. Born September 19, 1941, in Toronto, Ontario, Joan was the daughter of the late Carl E. and Mary Alberta Skill Keevil. On June 1, 1963 she married David Thomas Wilson, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2015.

Joan is survived by three children, David Andrew “Andy” Wilson and his wife, Tricia, of State College, Heather Morel and husband, Paul, of Scottsdale, AZ, and Wendy Carter and her husband, Daniel, of Ellicott City, MD; six grandchildren, Noah and Elsie Carter, Katelyn Morel, and Samantha, Mackenzie, and D. Cooper Wilson; sister, Mary Ann Pedlar of Waterloo, Ontario; and brother, Ben Keevil of Toronto, Ontario. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lena Carter; brother, Kenneth Keevil, and brother-in-law, Richard Pedlar. Joan graduated from North Toronto High School.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Victoria College at the University of Toronto and her master’s degree from Penn State University. She was a faithful volunteer teacher at the State College High School for the ESL program for many years. Additionally, Joan volunteered for Park Forest Day Nursery and the United Methodist Women’s Organization.

Recently, she enjoyed volunteering within the Foxdale Village Community. Joan was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. She was passionate about many service projects, especially those that helped children and women.

On many days Joan could be found cheering on her favorite Penn State University Hockey and footfall teams. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 250 E College Ave, State College, Pennsylvania, with Pastor Becky McGee officiating. A reception luncheon will follow at the Foxdale Village dining room 500 Marylyn Avenue, State College, PA.

Burial will be in Graysville Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Park Forest Nursey Pre-school at parkforestpreschool.org in State College, PA or United Methodist Women organization at www. unitedmethodistwomen.org.
